Warm and Toasty at First Days Children’s Charity

Thank you from the bottom of SecureHeat’s heart for the amazing response to our crowd funding appeal on behalf of First Days Children’s Charity, Wokingham in our quest to raise £862 for plumbing and heating parts needed for “The Hub’s’’ heating system.

As a passionate family man, how could I not be inspired to lend a hand when I heard about the wonderful work that First Days was planning for the colder days which are upon us. This year, with the soaring cost of energy bills, they are doing something really amazing – providing a much needed warm space so that home heating, if at all affordable, can be limited.  “The Hub” is an inviting space in which Wokingham residents can keep warm, enjoy a hot drink whilst having access to other essential services that the charity offers.  Alongside hot drinks is the opportunity to charge mobile devices, wash clothes, have access to pre-loved warm clothes and winter coats for children and teenagers alongside energy efficient items for the home such as slow cookers and air fryers.

SecureHeat carried out all essential maintenance and repair work to get the boiler and heating system up and running efficiently at their Elevate Centre free of charge however, in order to make this a reality, we raised £862 for parts. Thanks to the very special people at Honeywell who, did a remarkable thing, donating many of the parts we were able to gift £740.53 cash to the charity to help with the centre’s running cost.   If you’d like to know more about the remarkable First Days, click here.
